Taking The Kitchen Table on the Road: Come See Us at the NC Grape Festival

Taking The Kitchen Table on the Road: Come See Us at the NC Grape Festival

This Saturday, we’re packing up Udderly Eclucktic Coffee Co. and taking The Kitchen Table on the road.

Most Tuesdays, The Kitchen Table happens right here: a cup of coffee, a story, something I’ve learned, or something good to make at home.

This week feels a little different.

There are coffee bags to gather, tea to pack, jewelry to sort, displays to think about, Cowboy Blend samples to plan, and approximately a hundred opportunities for me to wonder what I’m forgetting.

And this time, I’m not packing for just one business.

My daughter will be there with her business, Worriless Wildflower, too. Which means we are somehow going to fit two businesses worth of displays, setup supplies and products into one vehicle and get all of it to Lu Mil Vineyard in one piece.

If you’ve ever packed for a vendor event, you already know this is going to be part business preparation and part very determined game of Tetris.

Because this Saturday, October 10, we’ll be set up at the North Carolina Grape Festival at Lu Mil Vineyard.

So instead of another brewing lesson or recipe this week, I thought I’d invite you behind the scenes while we get ready.

From an Online Store to a Real Table

Most of the time, Udderly Eclucktic Coffee Co. lives online.

You see a coffee on the website, read the description, choose your grind and place your order. I get to see an order come through, but I don’t always get to see the person who will eventually be sitting at their own kitchen table drinking it.

Vendor events change that.

For a few hours, I get to put faces with conversations. I get to hear how you make your coffee, what flavors you like, whether you want something bold or smooth, and whether you’re the person who drinks it black or the person who considers coffee a delivery system for creamer.

No judgment from this table. I’ve been on both sides of that one.

That face to face part is one of the things I’m looking forward to most Saturday.

Two Businesses, One Vehicle

There’s another part of Saturday that makes this event especially fun for me: I get to do it with my daughter.

She’ll be bringing her business, Worriless Wildflower, while I’m bringing Udderly Eclucktic Coffee Co.

Worriless Wildflower is a pretty perfect reflection of her because she does a little bit of everything creative. She’s an artist and crocheter, and she’s also a cosmetologist offering hair and facial services along with custom press on nail sets.

Worriless Wildflower at a previous Grape Festival. This year, we’re making the trip together with two businesses and one very full vehicle.

So between the two of us, one vehicle has to hold two complete vendor setups, displays, products, supplies, coffee, tea, jewelry, crochet pieces, artwork, and whatever else we both decide at the last minute that we absolutely cannot leave at home.

I’m not entirely sure what the inside of that vehicle is going to look like by Saturday morning.

I have a feeling “packed” is going to be an understatement.

That’s part of small business life, though. There’s no loading dock or event crew waiting for us. It’s a mother and daughter, one vehicle, a whole lot of bins and tables, and two businesses we’ve built around things we genuinely enjoy creating.

And I think that makes getting to do this one together pretty special.

Why Cowboy Blend Is Coming With Me

If you’ve been reading The Kitchen Table, you’ve heard me talk about Cowboy Blend more than once.

There’s a reason.

When I say that starting this business changed the way I drink coffee, Cowboy Blend is one of the coffees that helped do it. I went from thinking coffee was something that needed to be covered up with sweetness to actually enjoying a cup black.

So when I was deciding what coffee I wanted people to actually taste at the festival, Cowboy Blend made sense.

We’ll be giving out free Cowboy Blend samples at our booth.

If you already love it, come get a cup.

If you’ve wondered what I keep talking about, this is your chance to try it.

And if you take one sip and decide you’re looking for something completely different, come talk to me. That’s why I’m bringing information about the rest of our coffees and teas too.

There’s More Than Coffee Coming to the Table

One of the funny things about a name like Udderly Eclucktic is that nobody can really accuse us of being too predictable.

Coffee may be a big part of what we do now, but Saturday’s table will have a little more personality than rows of coffee bags.

I’ll also have my handmade jewelry with me.

There will be colorful everyday earrings, seasonal pairs, and plenty of the fun, quirky ones that make me smile when I make them.

If you’ve ever wondered where the “Eclucktic” part of our name comes from, standing in front of a table containing coffee, tea and candy corn earrings may answer the question pretty quickly.

A Sneak Peek at Something New

I’ve also been working on something new for The Kitchen Table: recipe cards using our own coffees and teas.

This project started with a pretty simple thought.

When somebody buys one of our coffees or teas, I don’t want the relationship to end when the package arrives.

I want you to know what you can do with it.

Sometimes the answer is simply, “Brew it and drink it.” There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. That’s how I drink my coffee most of the time.

But sometimes you want to make something different.

So I’ve been putting together recipe collections for Everyday, Fall and Christmas, all built around coffees and teas we actually carry.

A little peek at the Everyday Coffee Favorites set: simple recipes made with regular brewed coffee and no fancy equipment needed.

They’re still part of what I’m working on, but I’m excited about where they’re going. Think of them as a little more of The Kitchen Table that you can keep in your own kitchen.

What You’ll Find at Our Booth

If you come see us Saturday, you’ll be able to browse a selection of our coffee and tea, look through my handmade jewelry, ask questions, and learn more about all the coffees and teas available through our website.

If we don’t have the exact coffee, tea, size or grind you want sitting on the table, we can help you place an order to have it shipped directly to you.

And, of course, there will be those free Cowboy Blend samples.

And make sure you visit Worriless Wildflower while you’re there. You’ll get to see some of her creative work in person, including the things she’s been crocheting and creating, and you can learn more about her custom press on nails and cosmetology services too.

More than anything, though, I hope you’ll stop and say hello.

You don’t have to buy something to come talk to me.

Really.

Come Find Us at Lu Mil Vineyard

The North Carolina Grape Festival is this Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 10 AM to 3 PM at Lu Mil Vineyard, 438 Suggs Taylor Road in Elizabethtown, North Carolina.

Admission is free.

Come spend the day at the vineyard, then look for Udderly Eclucktic Coffee Co. and Worriless Wildflower.

Grab a coffee sample.

Look at some earrings.

See what my daughter has created for Worriless Wildflower.

Tell me what you’ve been drinking lately.

And if you’re one of the people who reads these Tuesday Kitchen Table posts, please tell me that too. There’s something pretty special about finding out that the person standing on the other side of your table has been sitting at your virtual one all along.

Taking The Kitchen Table With Us

I started calling this blog The Kitchen Table because a kitchen table is rarely just a piece of furniture.

It’s where we drink coffee.

It’s where we talk.

It’s where people gather, plans get made, stories get told and life happens.

Saturday, our table just happens to be moving to a vineyard.

Actually, make that two tables, two businesses and one very full vehicle.

And somehow, that feels pretty fitting.

So if you’re nearby, come pull up a chair. Figuratively, at least. I make no promises about how many actual chairs we can fit in the vehicle after everything else goes in.

We’d love to see you Saturday.

Until then, there’s always room at The Kitchen Table.
